First Day of Winter!

The first day of Winter will be remembered forever for those of us in Seattle. The area is mostly shut down. Luckily, I'm on my days off, otherwise I would be held hostage at the Airport or at the DoubleTree. I had (as of 4pm, Sunday) at least 8 inches of snow at my house. More expected overnight. Next storm is due on Wed. EEK!

Thanksgiving 2008

Sorry, no photos, but I'll give you the run down.
Again, Mom & Dad came up to SEA, and so did Kim.
We didn't get back to the Seattle area till about 9pm.
That kinda left us in a pickle to get groceries for Thanksgiving dinner. Well, anyway, my plan went okay. We went out on Thanksgiving day to Safeway and purchased a Jenny O turkey. It was pretty good. The turkey was frozen, but came seasoned and in a oven ready bag. Perfect! "From freezer to oven" is what the package claims. Well, 4hours later we ate! There was a little bit of a fiasco with the yams. I put marshmallo's on top of the casserole then went downstairs to get started. Well, our meal was so delicious that I totally forgot about it in the oven. EEK, ran upstairs and let's just say Kim and I had to open the deck door and windows. So, yes the top was completely black. But the yams below tasted yummy!

Black Friday
We left at 430am for Black Friday shopping. We pretty much got all that we wanted. We were one of the first 100 people at Cost Plus, and this is what we got.Humm, what do you think, was it worth it? ha ha
While I'm on the ornament thing, here are some other ones I got.
Saturday after at Pikes Market

Dang, it was super crowded.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Happy Halloween from MSP!

I had so much fun with this costume. I came to work with my jacket on, and took it off in the backroom. The AA agents all took a double take! I could hear them say, "I didn't know AS allowed that", or "I swear I saw him in short sleeves", even Dan the CSM took a double take. When I walked out to help checkin, the TSA (which is right in front of the door) all turned their heads and their eyes grew big. I have not had so much fun with them. Okay, so they are "sleeves" that slip on. Everyone wanted to know where I got them. Rob, an AA agent, wanted to buy them from me to wear at a party. Well, I got them in Seattle at Joanns when Lisa and I went to get craft paper for our Halloween decorations. I told her I would take them to MSP and wear it on Halloween. Dan even called the MSP Joanns to see if they had them. I want another tatoo, so this is my start! ha ha

MSP, here we are!

I was fortunate to be selected for the start-up team for our newest city, the "Twin Cities" of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Inagural flight arrived on a misty Sunday the 26th of OCT. And departed with a water salute from the MSP Airport.Members of the MSP CSA Start-up Team

Texas State Fair

After my part in the DFW Support Staff, I took a few days after to go to the Texas State Fair. I really liked it. I wish my friends were with me. The midway games brought back memories of other Fairs I went to. Everything is fried at the Fair; from Snickers bars to the famous "corney dogs"
This is a sample of a prize winner in the Annual Fried Foods competition.
It's a Fried Banana Split, and yummy. I did not get a chance to sample the winner, which was Chicken Fried Bacon. Humm...
The famous butter sculpture. It's a tribute to the King Tut exhibition that will be in Dallas in late October. Some of the livestock at the Fair.Judging the young cattleThe Piglet Races. It was hilariousHere I am with Big Tex. He got new clothes this year. I highly recommend this State Fair to everyone. Can't wait till next year.

Fort Worth Stockyards

I was fortunate to be a part of the Support Team to assist with the vendor change at DFW. There really isn't a very good public transportation system from DFW to Dallas. The TRE is the only link to Dallas and Forth Worth. The TRE does not run on Sundays. But for us tourists, hope is not far. They are building a rail line from DFW Airport to downtown Dallas. Anyway, on my day off, I ventured out to Fort Worth, to see the Stockyards. Here's my mode of transportation.Once a major stop on the Chisholm Trail, Forth Worth is the place to experience Texan heritage. From the authentic saloons and Friday night Rodeos, to the daily longhorn cattle drives, the Stockyards gave me a true representation of how the Old West was.
