National Cherry Blossom Festival DC

This past weekend was the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. This commemorates the gift of 3,000 cherry blossom trees from the City of Tokyo. I missed the peak bloom period (when 70% of the blossoms are open), because the forecast came up short. Peak bloom turned out to be April 4. Oh well, we can't predict Mother Nature huh? The highlight of the Festival is the Parade down Constitution Ave, and the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival. Hope they predict right next year!
