Views from the Washington Monument

On this trip to DC, I got myself up early, so I could stand in line to get tickets for the Washington Monument. I got to the station at about 0730. The ticket booth opened at 0830, I thought it was 0800. But better early then late, I guess. Anyway, I was around number 60 in line, and it did build. I'm not sure how many tickets are allotted per hour, but by the time I got to the front, I got the last ticket for the 1000 time. Anyway, it was worth it, the view was awesome. I'm glad I went early too, because it clouded up about 12noon.

The beacon as seen from the inside

The view of the Capitol Building

The White House
The Lincoln Memorial
The Jefferson Memorial, with Reagan National Airport in the background.
See the plane?
Doesn't it look like a Angel in the clouds?
